Testing is the key moment of the certification process. Your passed certification exams are legal evidence of your professional knowledge. There are different professional levels within a certification program. Different numbers of exams passed are required to achieve a certain level (e.g. from one exam to become an MCTS and up to five exams for MCPD).
Pass or failure in the exam depends on the amount of right answers. The number of questions in the exam varies from 50 to 200. The exam duration is also different: from 2 up to 4-6 hours.
Authorized testing is an obligatory step on the path to get a certification. This testing is carried out by authorized certification centers. At present there are only two suppliers – Prometric and Pearson VUE (Pearson Virtual University Enterprise). They provide testing services on different certification programs of almost all world famous vendors: Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Novell, Cisco, Oracle, Lotus, IBM etc.
