SoftServe Company will have its own Certification Center very soon. As we all know, certification helps a person to be recognized in the wider public, proves that you have mastered the skills you were aiming at , but at the same time it is one of the key elements of career growth. SoftServe Certification Center will be able to certify specialists interested in different programs, such as Microsoft, Sun Microsystems - SAI, IBM/Lotus/Tivoli, Cisco Systems, CompTIA, Novell.
The idea of Softserve-based Certification Center was conceived long time ago but the first steps towards its establishment were made in our company beginning from December 2006.At the present moment there are two companies which can authorize the startup of new testing centers. They are Thompson Prometric and Pearson VUE (Virtual University Enterprise). We have decided to cooperate with the second one.
Pearson VUE is a branch of NCS Pearson and one of the market leaders in the area of computerized educational and certification services in the world. In order to provide tests Person VUE uses the Internet, Web, Java and even mobile technologies that guarantee high quality testing and customer support. These days the company has more than 4000 authorized testing centers in 151 countries all over the world.
We made quite many efforts to get the permission to introduce the authorized Certification Center within SoftSeve University on the basis of which SoftServe IT Academy Program, Microsoft IT Academy Program and SoftServe Language School function nowadays. Pearson VUE Company imposes a good number of requirements upon its centers. For example, we have to equip several modern working places and a designated place for an administrator in compliance with Pearson VUE standards, send the photographs with the properly prepared and equipped area to conduct exams, reason the necessity of the Certification Center establishment, obtain the educational licenses to provide training and certify graduates; submit the appropriate legal and financial information about our business plans of the Certification Center, co-ordinate the curricula, schedules and principles of work. The team of four people, including Andriy Pereymybida, Tetyana Naychuk, Yuliya Sorokhan and Volodymyr Anokhin, under the supervision of Serhiy Kharytonov VP of technologies and system administration assistance – here special thanks to Ihor Kozachuk and Maksym Verveha –successfully fulfilled the tasks set within quite a short time-frame of two months despite the long winter celebration periods both in Ukraine and the West.
In order to obtain the status of the authorized Certification Center all the requirements have been successfully met. The collaboration agreement has been signed, the proper software has been installed and our Testing Center administrator has been certified.
At the present moment we are anticipating the official recognition of our Training Center, then the Certification Center starts its functioning and welcomes all the interested specialists to take the exam on different programs, such as Microsoft, Sun Microsystems - SAI, IBM/Lotus/Tivoli, Cisco Systems, CompTIA and many others which are acknowledged in the world and known to be the most effective means of expertise of IT specialists’ professional knowledge and skills.
